Effort & Serenity Health & Wellness Community Services Inc. was founded in July 2024 by Drs. Garreston Boakai & Dahlene Browne Paasewe, a husband-and-wife team for over thirty-three years.  They are retired physicians, current founding pastors of the Word of Hope Community Church in Milwaukee WI, college healthcare educators and mentors in Milwaukee, WI for the past fifteen years, and continue to serve the communities in which they live, in various ways. They are blessed to be parents to six successful adult children and grandparents to eight precious ones. 

Drs. Paasewe put themselves in a voluntary early retirement from practicing clinical medicine as Family Practice Physicians when the need arose to focus on mentoring and being present in the lives of their young growing family, a decision that was hard then, but the best they ever made. While making this sacrifice for their children, they continued to work in the local clinics in supportive allied health job titles in Milwaukee as Medical Assistants and Dialysis Tech until they were able to leave the children one night a week to study and complete their master's degree together in Business Administration and a graduate certificate in Health Systems Management. Following the achievement of this new credential, they were able t6o work in local colleges, helping to mentor students in the medical assistant programs is technical colleges in Milwaukee, WI. 

Today, they have mentored and have been involved with the education of hundreds of Medical Assistants in the healthcare system, many of whom have become nurses and other health workers. Today, they are parents of an author, college educator, multiple entrepreneurs, a Google financial accountant, an EMT, behavioral health specialists and an aspiring future health professional (the youngest child) who just finish college with a degree in Neurobiology at 22years old in 2025.  

It is a rewarding experience to be passionate health advocate for others since becoming a physician twenty-nine years ago and being involved in preventive care. We are looking for others to join us on this journey to serve the community.
